Help us build our new cultural school!

Haninge Cultural School is in the midst of an exciting development process and we are now looking for a music educator 80 - 100% with broad competence and violin as the main subject.

Your task will be to teach children and youth aged 6-19 in violin playing and to work across subjects with ensembles and projects.

Your mission

The cultural school has its own facilities in several different locations in the municipality, and we also teach in schools and libraries. Our biggest mission and challenge is to “reach new and reach more.” Part of this is to teach with new methods and formats where teaching in different types of groups is an important part.

We now have a need to expand the string subject with activities in new places where the cultural school currently has few participants. The position also involves continuing to take care of and develop the students and ensembles we already have, in collaboration with string colleagues and other teachers.

Your qualifications

We are now looking for an engaged music educator with knowledge, experience, and a strong desire to develop good methods for group teaching. We welcome experience working with “string classes” or “el Sistema.” Different forms of ear training methodology are also meritorious. Breadth is important, but also in-depth knowledge in a specific area or genre, as we know that both breadth and depth are important. Experience from other cultural areas or similar course activities is also meritorious.

A degree from a university with a pedagogical focus or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent is a requirement, as well as knowledge of digital tools and working methods.

Your skills

You need to have ideas and a willingness to experiment, seek new paths towards a broadened and relevant cultural school. Flexibility is important as we will increase our offerings and try new ways of working. Good social skills and personal suitability are also of great importance.
